• Since its inception in 2004, Angel Hair for Kids™ has provided wigs at no charge to over 150 children.
• Each year approximately 10,000 children in Canada will lose their hair.
• It takes approximately 12 donations of unprocessed hair and costs about $1,200 to craft a single hand-sewn wig for a child.

During a time when children find themselves struggling with painful and difficult medical conditions, losing their hair can have a devastating effect on their self-esteem and confidence.

Angel Hair for Kids™ is a national non-profit program that provides human or synthetic hair wigs for children from financially disadvantaged families who have lost their hair as a result of the A,B,C's of hair loss: Alopecia, Burns and Cancer chemotherapy and radiation treatments.

Angel Hair for Kids™ does not manufacture the wigs directly. Although we have special relationships with professional wig manufacturers who supply their services to Angel Hair for Kids™ at a nominal fee, A Child’s Voice Foundation must use its funds to have each wig manufactured. Once created, each wig is fitted and styled for a specific child and given to them at no cost to their family.

At any given time, Angel Hair for Kids™ has between 5 and 10 applications waiting to be processed and the demand is increasing. These requests come primarily from Sick Children’s Hospitals, pediactric oncologists, interlink nurses and social workers in the community.

While Angel Hair for Kids™ receives hair donations from across Canada, funds are needed to turn the donated hair into wigs.

The program does not receive any funding from the government or any other organization, so it must depend on the generosity of corporate and public donors to continue to provide wigs for these special children.
